Changes to your JobKeeper Declaration for August 2020

The ATO has implemented changes to the JobKeeper eligibility rules to widening the net to include new employees. Do you have new employees & are they eligible?

Are you new employees eligible for JobKeeper?

  • Employees employed as at 01 July 2020 may now be eligible

  • Employee hasn't been nominated by another employer

  • Casual employees need to have been employed on a regular basis during the 12 month period ending 01 July 2020

What do you need to do to claim JobKeeper for these new employees?

  • confirm your employee is eligible for JobKeeper

  • provide your new employees with an Employee Nomination Notice, to be completed and kept in your records (https://www.ato.gov.au/Forms/JobKeeper-payment---employee-nomination-notice/)

  • ensure your employees have been paid a minimum of $1,500 per fortnight starting from fortnight 10 (commencing 03 August 2020)

  • you have until 31 August to meet this wage condition

  • add the new employees to your August JobKeeper Declaration from fortnight 10
