Is Your Business JobKeeper ready?

With JobKeeper enrolments now open you need to ensure that your business on track to claim the wage subsidy, and the correct records are kept.

Employers - Steps you need to take to get ready:

  1. check if you (the employer) and your nominated employees meet the eligibility criteria

  2. let you eligible employees know that you intent to participate in the JobKeeper scheme

  3. complete the Eligible Business Participant Nomination Notice, and confirm that they agree to you being their primary employer to receive JobKeeper payments

  4. file the Nomination Notices - you need to keep for 5 years

  5. update your payroll system to include the JobKeeper payment payroll categories (check with your software provider as they will have these steps outlined for you -

  6. pay each eligible employee $1,500 per JobKeeper fortnight (remember the first fortnight began 30 March 2020, so if you intend to claim for April, you need to pay each eligible employee $3,000 by the end of April)

  8. enrol for JobKeeper - enrolments opened 20 April and closes 31 May 2020 using the Business Portal and authenticate with myGovID, or ask your friendly Tax or BAS agent to complete on your behalf
